I saw Lancaster and thought Lancaster CA, then realized it's Lancaster, PA. 2500 miles or so too far east.

Mods??? Do you mean that machine or (old) Mark VII's in general?

That one doesn't show any blaring abuse. Little far from me but I was driving a lot farther when I was buying Mark V's.

PA's a little far to travel, if it was closer I would so be there. Right now all I can find are basic SS's with out a lot of parts and no extra's for about $600 and the crazy people that want big money ($1500 to $3000) for a nice complete setup.

It appears to have a table support added as well as 'something'(rod?) between the headstock and carriage. I realize now what I thought was an added switch on the motor pan is the 'lockswitch'.

Wonder if it has the base(not visible in pix and it appears to be dedicated as a drill press).

Hi JPG:
That positioning rod is just a standard Mark VII improvement over the Mark V. One of many.

I also thought initially that was a table support of some kind but when I blew the picture up a couple of clicks I decided that it was actually attached to that gray panel that appears to be leaning against the wall. Maybe an extension table for a table saw???
I would expect the base to be there but it would not be visible at that angle. The 4 tube assembly would not stand up alone on end.
It is cheap enough that even if someone didn't want a Mark VII it would yield a nice larger table upgrade. Just use the Mark VII carriage (with that positioning rod removed) and the VII table. I see the fence and it mentions "a number of accessories" so I would hope that includes the miter gauge and the extension table. The special "L" extension table will attach directly to the VII main table and moves up and down with it or it will fit in the end sockets like a regular extension table.
I still think that the original Mark VII would have made an awesome start for the Power Pro... Of course you could always just convert a Mark V headstock and slip it on a Mark VII after removing the rack gear from the front way tube (which is probably already broken

). That would cure the plastic cam problem and since the rack gear isn't used that problem would be gone as well.
