Router Table - Plate doesn't fit

So I finally got my router table from the Incra package I ordered before Christmas. Went to assemble it, and it looks like the hole in the table for the insert was not cut out correctly...seems like the radius in the corners is a little off, or perhaps a little short on the long edge. I expected a snug fit...this just seems a bit too snug.

Anyone else see this on theirs? Dusty - I think I saw one of these on your wall in one of your shop photos =)

I have a router table but it is not from Incra nor is the insert.

The router table is Shopsmith and the insert is from Woodhaven.

However, I had to do some sanding to make mine fit.

Thats the one I am talking about. The Incra Ultimate kit comes with the shopsmith router table with the woodhaven insert. If you had to sand a little then that makes me feel a bit better about it. I will give that a shot.

I purchased the same set up and originally thought my insert didn't fit. I learned one must hold the insert level with the table (you cannot insert one edge then the opposite edge) when inserted level it is still snug but goes in with a bit of gentle assistance. fjimp

Incra and SS customer service are both great. If something is supposed to fit but doesn't, my first instinct would be to call to confirm something isn't awry.

well, after some sanding I was able to get a nice tight fit.

Next question - the manuals state that 3hp+ routers are not supported - does anyone know why? Is it weight, something else perhaps?

Think maybe torque could be a concern?:)

thats what I thought...torque, weight, or physical size.

Weight - should be ok with the right plate and/or brackets on the table.
size - could be a problem getting in between the way tubes.
torque - should be ok with a sturdier plate and brackets

I wouldnt think that torque would be a problem on the overall table/rails.
