Use of Craftsman Jig
A neighbor has an old but new Craftsman jig (still in the box). He's offered it to me at a cheap price. The box says that it works on any table saw with a miter gauge groove that measures 3/4 inch wide by 3/8 inch deep. The problem is that my Shopsmith is at my summer place in North Carolina, and I'm in Florida. Therefore I can't check the measurement of the miter gauge groove. My question: Will the Craftsman jig work on my Shopsmith 510 saw table?

The miter bar used on a Shopsmith cannot be that wide. The miter track measures .725" at the table surface.rwyoung wrote:A neighbor has an old but new Craftsman jig (still in the box). This is a very common "issue" in that the Shopsmith is "non-standard".
The miter bar could possibly be machined to an acceptable width.

If its the craftsman universal jig (similar to a fancy shopsmith tenon master) then you can use a rasp to shave down one edge. If you are careful you can keep it true/square. I have done it before and it worked out fine.
