Do you have the manual that should have come with your shopsmith? It gives step by step instructions on how to square the table to the arbor, then square the fence to the table and then you can sqare the accessory tables. If you don't have the manual, then I'll be happy to post the instructions here for you if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I just love it when she says I can go make sawdust.

Goodness! It would require too many words (and I'd probably leave out an important part) to try to answer your question. So I offer this: The Owner's Manual coming with the Shopsmith is probably the best place to start. A hard copy can be ordered from Shopsmith. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/manualsindex.htm
Also the book - Power Tool Woodworking For Everyone (PTWFE) is an excellent source of Information. There is a PDF of PTWFE on the Shopsmith site. http://www.shopsmith.com/academy/introduction.htm
Also take a look at the Sawdust Sessions to find what you want. The Premier session (first one) has a video of aligning the saw table. Very important for safety and efficient sawing. Look over the other sessions also. http://www.shopsmith.com/academy/introduction.htm
Also take a look at the video Shop Tips. http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/Tips.htm

Welcome to the forum. This is certainly the place to come for answers.
If you don't have a manual, you'll need this. It does not answer your questions on alignment but does detail what makes your Mark V.

Looks like others have covered the basic info sources. PTWFE has the step-by-step instructions for alignment and use.landp wrote:Any pointers on setting up and using the table saw?
Which model do you have? 500, 505, 510, or 520?

Which table? Mark V(500/505-520) or Mark VII (or Mark 5).
When dealing with mixed models I make NO assumptions! ;>}
