Lost T slot washer

Lost T slot washer
UGH! One of my miter bars (SS Mark 520) has lost its washer and screw that holds it to the bar. Is this metric? Anybody know the sizes I need to get, hopefully at the local hardware store?

I seriously doubt that you will find those parts in a typical hardware store.
The two parts that you need are:
Washer(283).......514376 $2.27
Screw(284)..........514377 $0.80
If placing an order, I recommend you lay in a spare:
Taper Screw(279)...501401 $3.53

Dusty - what is the taper screw used for? Is that the screw for the miter bar?dusty wrote:I seriously doubt that you will find those parts in a typical hardware store.

Thanks guys.

So order something big(heavy) and not very expensive(wishful thinking?) and the additional shipping cost for that 'hardware' will be undetectable!:D
The thread is 8-32.
A washer about 7/8" od and about 0.115" thick and having a counter sink center hole to accept a 8-32 x very short(3/8"?) flat head screw.
To prevent loosening, slightly jam the screw threads or use blue locktite.
Putting flats on opposite sides of the washer(width about 0.725) would allow rotating the washer to allow insertion in non-t slots with out totally removing the washer&screw.
Food for thought!:)

Put Flats on the Sides? Why? Where do you find that this might be useful other than on the Belt Sander Table?JPG40504 wrote:So order something big(heavy) and not very expensive(wishful thinking?) and the additional shipping cost for that 'hardware' will be undetectable!:D

I hope he takes the miter bar with him to the hardware store? The washers in mine are thinner.
