Power pro. Any regrets?
It’s been a few months now. I was wondering. Are there any regrets from any of you that have upgraded to the Power Pro? I have not seen any posted. If there was a problem it sounds like SS dealt with it. I hope to make the change by June or July. I just thought I would ask those of you that have made the change how it was working now that you have had a chance to put some hours on it.
Make today a day that lets you smile!

Three of us here in Gainesville now have a solid Winter's time experience with our Power Pros, without any regrets. We (myself, son, and son-in-law) initially had to call Wes to make some adjustments in the controller, but that's it.
The added power is certainly noticeable, but what really impresses me is the smoothness and quietness.
We selected the DIY kits. Now that Shopsmith has Power Pro's available for immediate shipment I would recommend that you consider making the upgrade.

I do not have the PowerPro Upgrade however just got an email ad from Shopsmith stating that over 500 folks now have the PowerPro and that there is no longer any waiting list if you were to order one and they would be shipped out immediately. If my budget would allow, I definitely would get the upgrade and maybe even go for the new Mark 7.

No regrets whatsoever. I purchased a new one and opted to hang on to my old head (i have plans for it) and have had some minor problems that Shopsmith has stayed right on top of. Biggest issue is that my unit is cold sensitive. Seems that there are a handfull of units that simply won't turn on below a certain temperature and no one knows why. That's generally not a big problem here in Florida except for the fact that this has been an exceptionally cold winter for us. Hasn't prevented any woodworking, just need to warm things up a bit occaisionally. My shop is unheated, no real reason to, so for those 2 or 3 days a year I just deal with it and don't complain.

We have not seen any promotion on the power pro or Mark 7 yet from our representant in Canada (All in one tools)
Maybe they will start promoting it now that all the bugs seems to be out.
I wish I was near Dayton to see this, but what I appreciate most is seing the community that we form here and all the help that members can get from being in this forum.
Thanks to all of you guys and I hope to join the group of power pro owners soon. I also would choose to buy the new head and keep the old one, being so far from Shopsmith, I would feel more secure in having the old one as a backup.

Thanks for your comment. Glad to hear that over all everyone seems to be happy. A few glitches are expected when a brand new unit hits the market. It’s good to know that Shopsmith has been right there for customer service as always.

Geeze!!! By the time I turn on my computer, the question is answered perfectly well:D I also, have absolutely no regrets! In fact I am so pleased, I plan to start a thread to tell about the un-advertised benefits and surprises I have discovered.
Buying the PowerPro DIY kit is the best woodworking machine decision I have made since buying the Mark V.

I would love to see you start such a thread. With what I know of the Power Pro I can't justify the cost. Perhaps you can provide enough benefits that will allow me to justify it.
