How did you make the corners? looks like makebe you 45'd the corners on the lid afterwards?
Also how big did you make these?

Here's a pic of an open box and the lid. I didn't finish the inside yet because I'm deciding how. I think I want to apply flocking or maybe a satin liner or something like that.

You are right sir. I cut the corners off the boxes first and cut the tops afterwards.

The table was set at 45˚. After I clipped the corners off the box I glued the mahogany on. After sanding all of that smooth I taped the top to the box and sanded the top to match the box with the disk sander.
