wow, I don't think I would pay 50 for the jointer. I actually have the same jointer only in fully functioning condition and rust free that I was going to sell for $50 just to get rid of it. Just haven't taken the time to list it on CL yet. Maybe I should up my price if you all say you would take that one for 50.
Overall, I think I would pass on the deal unless you are really intent on fixing it up and that would be a hard one to fix.
Should I???

It doesn't need a ton of work you are looking at a picture. I will send it to scrap for $100.00.
Thanks,

I was checking to see if you still have the shopsmith. I hope you get what you want for it. But if you don't, i wanted to let you know I'd give seventy five for it. Because it needs a TON of work, it's only worth 100$. So if u wanted to meet half way, I'd give 100$.*
But good luck selling it. Btw, they come with attachments. Maybe you have a box of little peices or books. That will help you get closer to your 600$.*
Good luck, and keep me in mind.*

My son has had a couple of people get pretty indignant when he offered them less than the $1000 plus they wanted. The first time he was pretty upset that the person was so mean (he said "why didn't he just say thanks but no thanks"). I told him some people think that because they have it they can get whatever they want. I told him to move on to the next one and he eventually scored one for $50.
The mean guy still has his $1500 greenie (with no spt's, no sanding disc, no tail stock, get the picture?) listed on craigslist a month later.
If he can get $110 for scraping the SS he should take the money and run. The prices are not that high on scrap right now.

1984 Mark V 500 and an early 1954 greenie. jointer, belt sander, bandsaw, jigsaw, planner.
