Interested in the Lathe tailstock, I can use an extra as I have different setups and switching the tailstocks would be advantageous. Also interested lathe tool rest post and arm(Mark 5/Model 500)/toolrest if you still have them. I have some dust collection ideas and an additional toll rest post and arm is key to that. Must be for the Mark 5/Model 500 carriage though.spiderclimber wrote:Hello All,
Ok, I went through the posts and tried to figure out who wanted what and who needed what. Here is what I gathered.
Gat_76 said he needed the lower guard and Wannabewoodworker offered to send him his set. So the two of you PM each other and make that happen.
Pessen then said he wanted the upper and lower guards so I will send them to him, as long as he PMs me with his address so I can mail it off.
Ron asked for the table for a drum sander project and underdog asked for it to retro fit his 10er. I am waiting to hear back from underdog to see if he needs the carriage it fits into and the fence.
Maybe a forum member with a 10er can answer that sooner as to whether a carriage for the 500 will fit the 10er.
If it doesn't fit then I am going to send off the carriage to wingrider.
If Underdog doesn't need the fence, JPG will get that unless someone has a need for it more than he does and he steps away from his offer to take it.
That is it for now. I will keep you all updated.
Ok, two other pieces to add. Does anyone need the tailstock piece that you use for the lathe? How about a full lathe rest from the 510? I have both of those extra now too as I have the 520 set and don't need two sets.
Let me know.
I have extra SS 500 pieces, Do you want them?

Ok, I want to make sure you understand what I have then we can go from there. The tailstock piece is the horseshoe shape piece that fits into the end of the shopsmith. You tighten it down center with the arbor and then insert the actual tailstock dead or live center. This is the metal piece the live center goes into, not the center itself.
The arm tool rest I have is for the 510. I have the lower part of the tool rest only for the 500. That is pictured in the photo I posted. I can send either to you if needed.
Let me know. If you want a photo I will provide one

Yup, the tail stock is what I'm after. I find myself switching centers on a couple of processes and having a separate tailstock with the other center would be very helpful and certainly less stressful on the eccentric (tapping the center free from the eccentric).spiderclimber wrote:Ok, I want to make sure you understand what I have then we can go from there. Will a 510 tool rest fit the lower part of the tool rest for the 500??
If so I'll take 'em both If not the just the lower part of the tool rest only for the 500 as I am currently only blessed with '55 Mark 5.

I am not sure if it will or not, but you could always modify it to make it work I guess. I will just send them both your way so you can play around with it.
Now I have to get anothe box from work to ship stuff in haha. I have 3 boxes at home with parts in it already. Just need to get the padding in so it doesn't break through on shipping. That and my post office shuts down at 4 making it hard to get there before I get off work at 5. Might have to make it an early afternoon tomorrow to ship stuff out.
I live by you and play adult soccer leagues at the sportplex in north Olmsted. email me if you still have parts I would love the table, I inherited a destroyed table top and fence

Hi Evanz, I know where the soccer complex is I believe. Unfortunately, I have promised the table and fence to underdog as he is in need of them. I wish I had two to give away but I unfortunately do not.evanz wrote:I live by you and play adult soccer leagues at the sportplex in north Olmsted. email me if you still have parts I would love the table, I inherited a destroyed table top and fence
