While converting over to using the Shopmith as my full time table saw (more on that another time) I needed to clean up, fix up and spruce up. You know how a project snowballs. Anyway, a while back I made a shop table based on Norm Abram's plans. It's a great table, strong and fairly light weight. The sub table is a torsion box made from a 1 by pine frame skinned with 1/4 inch plywood, glued and stapled together. Very light and strong. Even so, the table was still too heavy to drag around so it sat in one spot and was seldom moved. Yesterday I removed the MDF table top and painted it. While it was drying I flipped the base over and attached a set of wheels. I never did the home made wheel system Norm has in his plans. These wheels make a huge difference. I do wish both pairs of wheels swiveled and I may remedy that in the future. I also may add a storage shelf underneath.
