I agree but lets not forget that it took almost 10 years, trillions of dollars, and hundreds of American service members lives.

Kind of bitter sweet as it did take 10 years. I am glad that we have brought it to a conclusion and justice has been served but I worry that this will re-ignite even more attacks in retaliation for his death.

I am glad for those who thinks that it will bring them closure, but lets not forget that this is far from over ... many followers are still all over the world. We need to be more respectful of others even if their differences are not well understood. Otherwise it will continue. It is not my wish, it is only my reflection on this.
The whole world is watching us and the example we set should be of peace, compassion and respect.
All through the ages, many well meaning soldiers committed awful acts, it reflects on all of us. Lets put ourselves in the others' shoes for a moment and think how it sounds when your whole family is killed because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. It may be a storm or it may be a tank but still it hurts a long time.
Revenge is never a solution and it never brings peace.

How do I put myself in the shoes of the 3,000 people murdered by this slug in New York, in Shanksville, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon in Virginia ?

This guy, Bin Laden, deserved to die. Frankly, I think his body should have been hung on a pole, as was done with Benito Mussolini, for all to see.

As to concerns about the consequences of this, these fanatics wanted to kill your mother and father, sisters and brothers, wife and children before Ben Laden's death, so nothing will change. They'll still pursue that goal of trying to kill you or your neighbor and thank God that we have a military, intelligence services, and police that will do their best to prevent that. If you think playing patty cake with these people will stop their murdering ways, you are wrong!

Listen, I agree with you about the 3000 who died that day, many thousands have died in Irak and elsewhere at the hands of soldiers of a so called "war" and they feel the same way, so where and when is it going to end.

It hasn't stopped since the beginning of time and it's not likely to stop any time soon. And, there is nothing you or I can do to stop it. These are not rational people. They have an agenda and it is to kill in the misguided belief that they are doing so with god's blessing.

As I said earlier, patty cake is not a game these folks understand. As far as ending al-Qaeda's war against the U.S. and the rest of the world, they can either join us in peaceful co-existence or face the consequences. Don't forget, they have murdered innocent men, women and children is places like Spain, the UK, Iraq, Pakistan and Bali, in addition to the U.S. These were not "combat" or "military" situations, they were cowardly attacks on unsuspecting people going about their daily lives.
