finished project

I just finished a craftsman style end table. We have in our living room right now and are enjoying it. It has several mortise and tenons in it like the hall table I did a few months ago and the half blind dovetails for the drawer were done on the ss jointmatic. I plan on doing a second one next.

Great looking table!

It looks like the tables I built from the plans in Woodsmith Magazine. Did you use their plan?

Scott - Wanted to join the guys in admiring your mission end table! Your excellent workmanship shows itself in every part of the piece! I particularly took joy in reading you did the half blind dovetails on a SS Jointmatic. This, once again, belies the common knowledge that one needs a special, storebought, dovetail jig to make these. In summary, GREAT JOB, SCOTT!

I assume you used the Jointmatic for the mortise and tennons also.

I take special interest in you piece as my Daughter has just ordered up a pair mission style end tables from my shop. So, in a while I'll be joining you with a similar project. I'll have to really buckle down to try and match your craftsmanship!

Thanks guys for the comments. And yes Chuck I did use the jointmatic for the mortise and tenons. Also it is the plan from woodsmith magazine fixit. I said I was going to build a second one next but my daughter wants/needs a chest of drawers built also and we are planning to redo our office/everything room so I will be making a computer desk and some built in shelves. Lots of projects so I will be heading for my hardwood supplier

That's a great looking table. Besides the grain patterns, dovetails always impress me. Possibly because I have never had the courage to try them.

For uninformed me, what is a jointmatic?

Hi scottss,

Great looking table!

You should be very proud of your finished project. It is a wonder and that you can create the projects that you do in the space that you have! I know, I have seen your work space! If it was not for the compact design of the SS, you would not be able to create these things. It is a fitting tribute to SS and their MarkV. You should post some pictures of your shop. It will not impress with the room you have, but rather the lack of room will be impressing:D .
