Post by jtreagan »

The old Shopsmith 10E (pre-1951) my father-in-law gave me needs new bearings. Could anyone give me instructions on how to do this? Thanks!

I am not sure where you are in the process of dis-assembly. You will need to remove the drive sleeve and then use a bearing puller to remove the bearings from the drive sleeve. The drive sleeve is held in place by a set screw mounted horizontally in the back of the headstock. I remove the quill assembly first.
