I assume the vent lets cooler air in and somewhere(gable apex?) hot air exits.

Very nice shed! I have been planning on building one for 3 years. Maybe next spring.

I wanted to put some lattice or something similar around the base to keep out the varmints but the wife but the kybosh on that idea. She said she wants to be able to see whats under there..............

I am pretty sure after the first skunk gets under there I will be installing some type of varmint eradication device to keep them from going underneath the shed.

The things you see on the siding are in fact as everyone had guessed hooks and rings to keep the doors from slamming shut when the wind blows. The vents are for air circulation I assume. There are two of them and the directions were to put them across from each other low on the shed. So I did what they said but I have to wonder how useful they are in that location. I would think that something low and high would have been a better way to go.

I think their thinking(?) was cross ventilation(when the wind doth blow).

I agree auto venting when it gets hot is 'better'. Think adding vents at gable apex or just below the cross piece!

You could put 'rat wire'(1/2" wire mesh) around the bottom, to keep varmits out and let LOYL 'see' under there. What does she plan to do when she 'sees something'?:D You will need those ear muffs then!;)

She won't scream or yell she is a pretty tough cookie. But she would probably yell for me to come and take care of the problem...........

Like I said I think there will be something put around the perimeter before long.
