Speaking of internet, is today the test(live) the new protocal or whatever day? The last version did not last long!

It was yesterday. It did not affect me or the sites that I visit. My provider has not gone to IPv6 yet. IPv4 works fine for now. Oh, I almost forgot to say last.

It would be very nice if Windows 7 was going to be the last release. Have now gotten used to Vista and to change - argh! I loved Win98 and WinXP, but don't know why they can't make a last one with minor changes. I suppose the demands of users won't let it last. :)

Who is making the 'demands'?

Screw up every other release and there will be folks demanding one that works.

There will never be a 'last' one.

Anyone noticed it is cheaper to get a new os version by buying new hardware? Something there doesn't pass the smell test! Won't be the last time!;)

Vista was awful. Windows 7 is much better behaved.

Demands are by young users and gamers. Also, programmers who want more power and more toys. I remember programming in the 1990's and wishing we had 32 bit processors. When they came out with NT2000, it was a breather, but now I think it has gone too far. My Vista does pretty much what I want, but many of the options for which it was created (movies, photos, gaming, etc.) I have no use for. I just want to browse the 'net, do my emails (not IM's) and do research for stuff I am trying or wishing to build. Since I have gotten rid of Norton's antivirus, it's much more stable. Demands for me are very simple but the sawdust is becoming more complex. ;)
