couple of small pen turning questions

I have two drill bits from pennstate. 1 a 7 mm, the other a 10mm.

when the holes are drilled, both in wood and acrylic the holes are a little too big. The holes are drilled stright, and I don't think I have any wobble. I know grollia glue is a gap filler glue and that might help a little, but I am not fond of GG.

The tubes come from either Pennstate or woodturnerz.com.

could the tube be at fault?

second question.
when putting together a slimline style pen, by putting the turning cylinder in a little too much or not as deep, you can do a little adjustment so when you twist the refill, you can get the depth of in and out perfect.

am I correct there is no room for error on a cigar pen? I least I didn't see any.

Farley, I doubt that the tubes are at fault otherwise you'd have trouble pressing the parts together when assembling the pens. Either the bits are the problem or you've got too much runout in your setup, perhaps from the spindle itself or the drill chuck. As far as gluing the tubes into the blank, Gorilla Glue may foam up and look like it will fill a gap, it really doesn't and the bond will be weak. I'd use a two-part epoxy for the loose fitting tubes as it will fill the gaps.

I don't know about the cigar pens.
