My Model 500 Blade Guard finally arrived. I was tired of losing bids on e-bay for a used one so I ordered one from the factory. I've been holding off working with my daughter on the Shopsmith untill all the safty gear was in place so shes excited to get back at it. I drilled and tapped for the mounting block for the upper blade guard on my spare table set up, but was slightly off in both the vertical and horizontal planes. When put together, theres no way to adjust the splitter without shims. Anybody have any advise before I attempt to install the mounting block on my other table set up?
Thanks inadvance
Paul
Model 500 New Blade Guard install

I did one for my brother-in-law -- also didn't get it perfect, but found that carefully shimming the 3 splitter mounts got it well-aligned. Would have to think about what to do if I ever tried another one.moggymatt wrote:My Model 500 Blade Guard finally arrived. Another option would to be fill the existing misplaced hole(s) with screws(same material - aluminum screws?) file them flush and redrill.
