checked out the PowerPro today at Lowes demo

Post by THOMRIDER »

Well I finally got a chance to see the powerpro in action and am thoughly impressed.
I also was able to see The 520 table system, again very impressive. David was great demoing everything and answering my questions. My only problem is the prices.

Guess you get what you pay for.

Who else checked out the demo.

I checked out the Oregon demo and "walked out" with a PowerPro for my Birthday from my wife and a few upgrades. Great prices.

Does SS have a deal that they'll do demos in Lowes Stored across the country? I would love to see this. And, maybe, take advantage of some of the sale prices.

I was there on Saturday.

Something he did say that I thought shopsmith should have advertised more. It was possible to finance a power pro purchase through Lowe's on their card. No interest for 6 months.
Don't you get 5% off your purchase when using a lowes charge?

May be worth asking about at a demo and see if I understood correct.

The price of everything is cheaper, shipping is free or cheaper and Lowes accepts various Lowes coupons and deals. I wish I had known this sooner, I got $35 off with a coupon but I heard they were accepting the 5% and 10% Lowes coupons that are around for purchases over $250.

I didn't know Lowes was offering 6 months no interest, if I would have known that. Purchase would have been made. To bad that wasn't brought up, nor was I told I could have used my Lowes charge account.

Shopsmith rep. Should have told me.

That cost him a sale. And me an upgrade.

Show your military (and, I believe, first responder fire, police, etc.) ID card and get 10% on all purchases. I understand the same policy applies at HD.

Are these "complete machines only" that can be purchased at Lowes's or are they selling upgrades there as well?

If upgrades - just how much cheaper are we talking about?

The online price for a new PowerPro Headstock (556176) is $1,899.00 plus shipping. Give me a couple coupons and a discount here and there and allow me to avoid shipping cost and I'll have to go to Lowe's to place an order.

I've now done two Power Pro conversions and have "participated" in two others. The DIY upgrade pkg is a little time consuming, but not too difficult to accomplish. If the DIY is offered at the demos, and is coupon and discount elgible, you should give this upgrade serious consideration.
