That looks nice! I seen a couple set ups on the forum for immersing the entire tube in evaporust but they are bulky and require a lot of materials "plywood, pcv, ect." and it appeared I had to use many gallons of evaporust. I would be investing more in materials than I paid for my whole SS setup! Maybe now that I'm down to some small pits evaporust and a scotch pad may be effective? Thanks

Just to keep the 'record' 'straight'!

5' 2" pvc 1 end cap 1 cleanout
<5' 1"pvc 2 end caps

< 5 min (each end) polishing by holding paper while tube is spinning slowly.)

[ATTACH]13610[/ATTACH] The small cup prevents the tube banging against the end cap(That end cap is actually a cobbled plug from a coupler and a plastic plug glued on).

I find this method much more 'palatable' than spit shining them. I can get 8 hrs sleep while they are being 'processed'.

Works well on light rust.

The plywood and 'Gallons' was for the electrolysis method.

Gallons of water (enough to submerge)

1/2 cup washing SODA

Battery charger(dc source). 12v to keep it 'safe'.

Sacrificial iron(scraps).

Wires to hook it up.

Recommended for deeply rusted(deeply pitted) tubes only.

Neither method requires much 'sweat equity".

Datsa why I likes dem!

Thank you jpg40504 for the pics and details. Looks like a good investment and easy to store. You have been a big help. I will check my local harbor freight for larger containers of evaporust. That product is unbelievable I don't know how I have never heard of it till this forum!

Thanks dan1999, it's good to hear from my piers that it looks good. I tend to be critical of my work sometimes and beat myself up. I did remedy the rust on the lower tubes since that picture. The rust slowly returned after three weeks and I had to stop it. I will have before and after pics of the belt sander and scroll saw very soon. Then I will have a complete setup with all the extras and actually do some woodworking! I still have an extra bandsaw and jointer to restore, but now the pressures off and I can take my time with them. I really love doing the restorations as much as the woodworking. I have about a 120 hours into it now and don't know what I'll do with myself if I finish! Thanks again for the compliments, it means a lot!

To put in the canal and tie up to the mini dock that defines the outer limit of your back yard.

P.S. No overnight RV parking without a permit either. NO OCCUPYING it while parking it overnight(with permit). That includes parking in driveways. On the grass!:eek:NEVER!!! Permits are VERY short term.

Been there(Cape Coral), done that! Nice place otherwise!:)
