Where are there others if this is but some of the ones available?
Are any of the new abrasives compatible to the Shopsmith Belt Sander and Sanding Disks?

Checked the storage system link - look like those that were discontinued. Dated 9/04. Have not checked the part # yet. Have now = not found*****
Gray on gray hard for me to read.
Looking up indeed!
***** apparently those are the same links as are on the 'previous' site = (lotta out of date stuff) Not good to be exposing 'new' potential customers to that which is no longer available! But then those are 'manuals links.

I would guess that there won't be. These abrasives are advertised to last up to 4 times longer, while the green ceramic sanding accessories already available for the disk and belt sander are stated to last 5 to 10 times longer. Reading the descriptions for both abrasives, I don't think they are the same underlying material.dusty wrote:Are any of the new abrasives compatible to the Shopsmith Belt Sander and Sanding Disks?
I was surprised that the "Shopsmith" abrasives being sold are not the green ceramic versions.

My guess - $$$$$$$$$$ Also they may be merely selling a vendor's wares under the ss brand. May also be a joint effort with Lowe's. Who knowes?

I think you might be telling me that Shopsmith is already selling sanding supplies that are an upgrade to what I have in the shop. This might be the downside of "stocking up during specials". A year or so ago, I spent a bundle on sanding supplies. I may never need to place an order for belts or disks again.tryinhard wrote:I would guess that there won't be.
