Cleaning your Shopsmith

I was curious what everyone does to keep their Shopsmiths clean. Do you wash and wax the body as well as the tubes? Any steps to prevent rust?

WASH?! That would exacerbate the 'rust' issue. Wax that which slides and or tends to rust.

Occasional(seldom) brushing(with dry paint brush) and or blasts of compressed air.

JPG I am using that liquid wrench spray on a shop rag and wipe off tubes and surface of the table and fence. Is that ok to use??

Question is, does it leave a tolerable residue. Will it attract/hold dust. Will it transfer to the work pieces.

I have not tried the application of kerosene(read the liquid wrench ingredients - kerosene = petroleum distillate) due to concerns for the items just mentioned(also it stinks!:D).

I extoll the virtues of JPW(original) as have many who have come this way before me. Trouble is only fairly recently have I 'seen the light!';)

Clean (and lube) the inside sometimes is another problem altogether.
