I'm getting ready to blow out and clean up the M 7 motor
Need advice as to what or more importantly what not to do

When I take a motor apart I put a piece of masking tape on the outside of the field windings and the use a magic marker to make alignment marks on the winding set and the end castings. Put one slash mark on one end and and a double set on the other end. This makes the alignment a lot easier when you have to put the long bolts back in to hold everything together. Open the motor slowly and note where the centrifugal switch is and how it activates. If you have to remove the switch mark where the wires come off the assembly to make reassembly a lot easier.
Also when you order bearings make sure you remove and measure everything carefully. The Emerson motor that I just did for my son had two different bearings but they were the same number. I measured one end of the shaft and assumed that both ends would be the same but that was not the case. The bearing on one end had a 5/8 bore and the other end is 17mm bore.

Do not force anything. There be wires and moving parts inside. Make sure you support it at all times(its heavy). The bearings may be stubborn about getting pulled out of their socket. Do not let them get cocked. Try to remove the rear end cap first(the vacuum blower end).

Advice from one who has never taken a M VII motor apart!;)

P.S. mark the end caps and shell so that they can be reassembled in the same position. Some folks smack them with a small chisel(one mark on each end, but on both end and shell.

Needed a little help removing sheave
After about an inch it came off fairly smooth
Shaft looks good
Now will see what's inside

Started to paint using the black wrinkle
Didn't look so good yesterday but set it out in the direct sun light today and it started getting hot and curing

get the rest tomorrow
Haven't seen one painted black so don't know how ugly this is going to turn out

I met someone today that has a machine that can carve the part out of plastic or nylon stock. but he needs a detail drawing of the part since I do not have one I don't know the exact size and details of this part.
