New baby
I went over to the dark side tonight. I picked up a Shopsmith #27235 with a 510 table system and a bandsaw. The speed changer is not funtioning but I have new parts from Shopsmith. My single quill 1957 is probably mad at me.
The purchase included a SS bandsaw and a 510 table system. The unit needs a new speed changer but the parts were included.
Total package was $250. I am pretty happy. It will take a few days to sort out. I know I am missing a few parts. There is no sanding disc and the arbor for the saw is missing in action.
Someone told me that I would end up with two when I purchased the first one.

That is more than room enough for a half dozen!:Djm51 wrote:I find myself looking for a 2nd SS and my workshop is 13 foot by 8.
All I use it for is a bit of cnc stuff, electronics projects, loudspeaker building etc. and metalwork once I get a screwcutting lathe. Should be plenty of room for a 2nd Shopsmith.

Serial Number
Finally back from the trip. Anyone want to take a guess at my new baby's serial number?
Shopsmith #27235
I am sure there are plenty of posts on serial numbers out there but I thought I would take a shot.
