What's Up with Shopsmith

Post by gr8mesquite »

They acknowledged my online Guide Block Bracket order on July 28th, but as of now nothing's happening. An Email yesterday has gone unanswered.
Are they still functional? Is this common for them now?

This seems to be par for the course.

The lesson to take out of this is "Do not use the email service for questions AND do followup by phone on email orders".

Once you make contact with the ladies in customer service, I believe you will be well cared for.

However, be aware that the excellent service of days gone by is not quite as excellent as it once was. There is a limit to what can be accomplished by the three people left in customer service. Shopsmith down sized and service has declined somewhat as a result.

Personally, I believe they should make it well known that the email service HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED because that is what it feels like out here.

Hi Guys
I recently ordered a few things from SS via the website and I had no problems. Admittedly that was several weeks ago and I checked order status through the website and everything worked OK. Fact is I got the parts (poly V belt and standard V belt) in less than a week. So I am still happy.

However as has been pointed out 'blind' faith in either an on-line order or e-mail communication is not necessarily prudent.

With no 'response', I would make that phone call. AIUI the e-mails are handled by our 'favorite' cs rep only when the phones lines are not stacked. THAT doesn't occur very often!;)
