So are you using the Second MKVII to refinish the First MKVII. Looks like it is going well. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Yes i'm hooked too
but as I explained it to the BOSS

I needed the second Mark VII to help with the restore on the first
I was informed of a date night whitch includes
Bingo at the casino next month

I guess it's a fair trade off

Wow if Bingo was all it took to get an extra SS then I would have two garages full of them. Great trade off if you ask me. Looks like it is going well. Looking forward to seeing more.

Didn't know the track was riveted on the tube
I'm thinking i'll have to drill these out
Guess I will tap the waytube and screw the track back on ?

Really a nice polishing job. I remove the various size wheels/casters from cheap Harbor Freight casters. I used long bolts, washers and nuts to position the wheels. I drilled 1 1/2" slots aligned with the tail stock hole center at 120 deg. and 240 deg. I find many tubes are bent and causes vibrations beyond the casters to where it is not safe to continue. Of course I accept Shopsmith in any condition for many years and had a little straighten the bent tubes. With several hundred tabe available, I can pick the one to change, I use the 10ER tubes on my shopsmith as they appear to be made from better marerial

I noticed last night about half way through the bench tube polishing
my cheapy casters have already worn considerably
Have to find some with bearings inside or
maybe a set of wheels like they have on the inline skates
may work also
