Sorry no Pictures but I did work on my tubes again today I got one done but it still has some scratchmarks on it from the 60 grit sand paper I started out with. the first time I sanded them I started out with 80 grit then 100 150 220 400 and 1000.

Today I started with 60 then 80 then 100 150 220 400 and 1000 but the one from the other day cleaned up much better after 1000 than the process today.

Not sure what I did wrong but I will go back to 80 tomorrow and work my way back up to 1000. And hopefully it will take out the scratch marks.

I decided to redo the tube because of the pit marks that were not taken out. today I got most of the pits out enough to make me happy but I have some spiral scratch marks that will not come out some of them you can hang or feel with your finger nail just barley. any suggestions on what I should do?

I also planned the bench the saw was attached to when I got it. the old pine has some nice markings and i think it will look good once sanded and finished. just not sure on how to finish out the bottom half of the work bench. my friend has some oak he said I could have but cracked and dried out. Might not turn out very good. Ill post some pictures tomorrow on the bench progress and the tubes. Hopefully I will be able to do some assembly as well.

I have a local store, but they aren't the brightest fellas I ever met.
They can't (or won't) look up a part unless you tell them what year and model car or truck it's for.

well I started out this morning in a great mood! which changed very quickly and abruptly about an hour into my work on the way tubes. They were not being helpful at all. In fact I believe they are more stubborn than a mule on a hot day in the middle of a cool running creek.

I sanded them down with 100 grit and then 120 grit (which was on a belt sander) then 150 240 400 1000.

They are smooth as a babies butt but they still have very small surface scratches that encircle the tubes from one end to the other. I can not seem to get rid of them no matter what i tried.

Sorry I still have no pictures as I was to upset with the finish of the tubes i did not even think to take a pic of my problem.

Well now it time to take apart the Head stock and get it ready from Paint. Some of you are asking why did I wait till now. Well i wanted to make sure I have dedicated table space and brain function for this job.

I ordered new Bearing from O'Riliey's Auto Parts with take two days to them and they are 20.67 a piece. I am not sure what the part number is but will post it once I get the bearings in.
