To all of you who opined on my question. Thank you. I will make him an offer and see if he accepts. I will let you all know what happens. He lives in my town so it is at least convenient. Again, thanks for the great advice and please excuse my newbie questions.

Yes I agree with JP for that price you can't go wrong and it has the 1 1/8 motor. I also think the 3/4 is fine also for what ever needs to be done.
You will find more do's and don'ts after you have one.
