Motor Replacement

I have an Emerson motor in my 510 serial#042991 I want to make it reversable because I do alot of lathe, work how hard is it to replace the motor with one that can be reversed and what should I look for when buying this motor.

I saw in a post from BillMayo that the Emerson motors are not able to be wired in reverse.

What brand motor should I buy.

I can't afford a powerpro upgrade.

Yeah, just buy one from bill. It's always best to go that route.

I can adapt the GE and AO Smith 1 1/8 HP motors to accept either 110 or 220 VAC input power. I have not been able to do the Emerson motors. I accept trade-ins or can adapt your GE or AO Smith motor if the windings are not burnt. I replace the bearings, reinsulate the windings, recondition the sheaves and paint the motor.

I can adapt the Shopsmith motor for 220 VAC input power only, 110 or 220 VAC input power, and/or add the reversible capability. Contact me offline if any questions.
