Various size carriages and support tubes

I have two Mark V tables.

One has a larger/wider carriage than the other one and the support tubes holes are further apart. The second one, which I believe is the newer of the two, has a smaller carriage and the support tube holes on the table are closer together.

The older one has a saw table and extensions which has round tubes on the side of them. The smaller one does not have that. And I would like to be able to use the table extensions with the newer one, how do I do that, can I do that? Thanks all.

It's difficult to know what equipment you have, but if you post a couple of pictures, I'm sure we can help you iron it out.

There are generally 4 types of shopsmith carriages

1) 10E/ER carriage. Heavy, no crank for raising/lowering. Way tubes are closer than a mark V
2) Mark V 500. Grey, green, or gold in color. Its symmetrical with the trunion holes fairly close to the way tubes.
3) mark V 505/510/520 & mark 7. Grey in color. Asymmetrical in shape. usually has a hand wheel to raise/lower
4) mark VII. this one is grey and is much more boxy than the mark V ones.

From your description, I believe you have:

A Mark V 510 main work table and carriage. The wide tubey one.

A Mark 5 or Mark V 500 work table(and carriage?).

They are incompatible with each other.

Question is, what rip fence do you have?
