Shopsmith 520 For Sale---Yuma, AZ.

Gents,
I have a 50th Ann. Model 520 that I am ready to part with. I have two setups and (as much as I love two machines) I need to make room for an upcoming PCS move (Military). I listed it locally on Craigslist and, before I break it into parts for sale on eBay, I wanted to see if there is anyone interested nearby to Yuma. I might even be able to help with delivery as far as Phoenix. This is a great foundation for a nice setup.

I have a 520 anniversary addition with the jointech router table but doesn't look like yours. Also how does the down draft box work. Looks really neat.

Looks very impressive. I would love to have that machine. I am currently looking for a SS but I live in NJ. I wish one that clean were available here.

I am hoping to find someone relatively close that I can hook up with a smoking deal. (NJ isnt that close:) )
I bought the Phenolic table from Jointech then ordered the extrusions from SS. They took so long to arrive that when they did I was already using, and addicted to, another setup.It makes for an excellent large floating table or you can attach a router and have a floating router table. I got the downdraft cabinet from someone that was not using it. It has aluminum angle stock on top for mounting but I have never done so. I was planning on making a sort of quick detach setup for it.

That is what dusty was thinking but dusty's equipment account is sorta like the Governments. Grossly over spent on discretionary items.
I might be able to arrange for long term storage though.

Oddly enough i never received any offers for it.
nstead I ended up parting it out and keeping the headstock and carriage for myself. I converted it into a mini and added some modifications to make it a beltsander/bandsaw power station with all the discs (conical and flat) mounted within the legs.

The crazy part is that by selling all the tables and accessories on ebay I made up the same price that I was asking for the entire setup on craigslist. I still have the Jointech router table with Smartlift that I am cleaning up and getting ready to sell. Good deal for me but counter to my original intent.

I wanted to sell the 520 system to someone just starting out in woodworking. I wanted to get them good and setup for little to no entry level cost. Both of my passions (shooting and woodworking) seem to be hobbies not pursued by the next generation.

Sorry to hear that such a nice Mark V Model 520 has been parted out; such a shame. Even more sorry that I could not have been the to rescue it from ebay. Ebay: a shameful way to end.
