I have one and use it with my Shopsmith and I can report that it works great in the Shopsmith miter slot. The miter bar width is .720 (not including the ball plungers, which can be completely retracted within the miter bar) and it is .348 deep although that depth measurement is a bit misleading/irrelevant because there are depth adjusters/levelers (thumb screws really) on both ends of the miter bar.
The ball plungers themselves are indeed quite small. I did not measure their length because I would have to take one completely out but I did measure the diameter of the tapped hole into which the ball plunger fits. That hole appears to be only 5/32nds in diameter.
