If that isn't a perfect use of the stop collar I don't know what is. I am going to put that to use today.

The limited response to this thread was a bit surprising to me; however, that may be because very few users tilt the table.

I, on the other hand, find the tilting table very useful. Most of the items that I build are small and easily controlled on the tilted table. This is not true when building things like tables and book cases or houses.

I am pleased though with how the adjustable stop collar works for me. Before this thread, I used just a threaded rod. The stop collar configuration works a lot better.

Thanks for this thread. I haven't had a chance yet to use my conical sander. But, the photos and discussion in this threat will really help me in the future!

Thanks for the feed back. Just curious, do you tilt the table for any tasks other than conical disk sanding?

I tilt my table on my "500" to cut miters and I always use a Wixey to "dial it in." I zero it when the table is 90 degrees to the blade and then I tilt the table until it reads the angle I want. Only takes a few seconds.
