While on the subject of scrollsaws, can someone tell me the exact measurement for the distance between the two saw blade clamps on the Shopsmith scrollsaw. I have an older scrollsaw that doesn't have those built-in templates on the side of the table for establishing the proper length of blade between the two clamps.

The exposed blade between the two brackets is 4 11/16" on mine but that is not a critical dimension. The tension control will compensate for some deviation.

Thanks guys! I'm planning to build a jig that will mimic the template on the Shopsmith table so that the blades can be swapped out quickly.

Dusty, yours looks the same as the Master Inside exploded view pic of a Mark V Mount version. I see yours is a stand mount though.
Look at the pic of mine, its different??

I believe your is just lacking the
blade block upgrade that is in place on Dusty's machine.

Absolutely. Be aware, this upgrade only effects blade change; making easier and less time consuming. Everything else is the same.
The cutouts in the table top are no longer needed if you have the upgrade.

Dusty on the back of your last pic (rear cradle) there is a black cyliner for hold down or support maybe. Even with the Master Inside Mark V scroll saw exploded view (page 58) on 400% view, I don't see it.
