Thanks all, I was very pleased with the "find". I just will not have the room for a spare machine as I will be working out of a postage stamp shop.

It's a screened in porch at this point, soon to be windowed to keep the extra natural light.

At only 121 sqft, I'll mount SPT's on one wall for storage, air filtration will go on the ceiling, and dust collection will be mounted external out of one of the window openings.

Will definitely need an under machine cabinet mounted on the support tubes.

He is a concept I use in my shop. I have one of my 500 set up as a drill press, this leaves the bench tubes with storage room below, the tubes them selves are then open to SPT storage.

I don't have a picture of the whole line up but if you were facing the shopsmith I have a Joint-matic in the power mount, a jig saw, belt sander, strip sander, and another strip sander. I mount my speed reducer about the headstock up high out of the way but still easy to get to. I think I have room to mount the lathe duplicator table if I arrange things better, a spring task.

Lot of good storage space, you get to keep the shopsmith and have a drill press at the ready. At least give it a trial before parting with things.

Well, I'll have to see about that. For me, floor space is more of a premium than wall space. In this little 11X11ft space, there are 3 doors, one to the outside in the middle of the wall, one to the mechanical room (furnace,waterheater, laundry) in the middle of the wall, and one to the inside of the house at one end of a wall.

I have no garage, I own and live on one side of a duplex. I'm slowly remodeling the other side, but for the most part, all my tools and work bench is used in the kitchen area now.

My Dewalt sliding compound miter saw is set up in the livingroom. Livingroom and kitchen is used for storage. I have one bedroom and the laundry/furnace room finished and am now working on the bathroom, so its going to be a long haul till all rooms are finished. I also work full time, will retire in another 10 years.

You're suggestion would be nice if I had more room

You ned to be aware of air flow in your house if you put your vacuum outside. It will be removing a quanity of either heated or air conditioned air and depending on how tight your house is can cause dangerious back drafts on flues, especially water heaters heated with gas and furnaces too. I recently saw a demo on this related to kitchen vents, which have grown larger with the bigger stoves today. Every exhaust will pull or replace the inside air with outside air and you want to be certain the way that air gets replaced is not down CO exhaust flues.

PS = nice coup on the SS 500 and SPTs. I have a 78 and 82, along with Proplaner and jointer. My bandsaw is Delta. Not much one cannot do. Enjoy your shop, but be careful with the vacuum system.

While the dust collection will be outside one corner window area, I plan on an air intake hepa filter on the opposite corner window area.
