Arm lock knob misaligned

is this a common issue?
this is as lined up as mine gets...

the cross piece doubles as a helper to get the floating sheave a-movin'...
the shaft was dry as a bone, I would venture to say it had never ever been oiled.
Any advice on removing the motor sheave? it is tight up against the "firewall"

I'm going to start stripping, priming and painting next, I want something other than grey... my wife is leaning toward aqua, my daughter toward purple (no way!) and I'm thinking red or black...

I went with black on mine. It looks great when it's clean. The problem is just like a car it shows every spec of dust that lands on it.
If you're a clean nut that hates to see dust on things (you've probably picked the wrong hobby) stay away from the black. Unless you really like to clean.
