This is a great idea in my humble opinion for those people who have good basic electrical and mechanical skills. Bill showed me on one and then next one I did myself & it worked!

Smells like, sounds like, just maybe it is a ROAD TRIP to see the MAGIC in DFW.

I'll be doing the motor(s) the first week or second week of January. The reversal only takes a few hours if all the parts are gathered first.

eartigas, I'm glad for the 220v volunteer. Unless db5 wants his to be 220v, I'll definitely do yours.
2centworth, if you want to make a road trip up here, I think that's a great idea. We can make sure to go by Skip's shop from mkctools. He is definitely someone you want to meet if you get the chance. If you can break Fred away from his bowls, bring him with you!
I might as well get my ulterior motives out there. My plan is to turn this into a side business offering this service on to forum members as well as on eBay (kits with reversible motor, switch, etc). I wanted a few satisfied customers on the forums first.
So other than these 3, if anyone who wants this service I'll be offering it soon.
Add external leads to the run windings and make them externally selectable re voltage.

Build a plywood box to just fit in a flat rate box. Mount and brace motor so it cannot move in the plywood box. 1/2" plywood minimum. Use lotsa screws!!!

I sent you a PM with my address. This is the first one I'm converting to 230V (though it shouldn't be that different so I'll post an update once I'm in it and have JPG check it before I fire it up
