Hi Heath,

I mistook the second respondent (Mike907) to be saying that he’d received his with a new 500 (He doesn’t actually say it’s new. Just that he’d recently acquired it). So, as someone else pointed out, this occurance does appear to be a matter of mere coincidence.

I’ve never received this piece with either of the machines I’ve bought.

That's what I thought…I knew it was part of a blade guard but for the life of me couldn't place it mentally on a SS…now it makes sense as I think back to the old Craftsman table saws I had once upon a time

It's funny, there is a number cast on the side and when I searched "shopsmith 1234567" (whatever the number was) I got various results listing "unknown shopsmith part number 1234567". looks like we weren't alone in the confusion.

I tried that too and it took me to all kinds of things having nothing to do with woodworking or tools.

And I made the mistake of thinking you were the one who said you had one of these too!

It is kind of like these. Obviously not ShopSmith parts. Folks throw tools into boxes and over time lose track what belongs to their ShopSmith.

I think those are fabrication punches for a variety of uses. Not made by Shopsmith.
