Nope! Not the Eccentric Clamp Screw. That screw is 1/4"-20x1 3/4" but it is a Cap Screw not a round head.

I do have a 1/4"-20x2" Round Head in the spare parts drawer along with the other parts from my Shopsmith Help Kit. Problem is that other hardware has been added to those drawers and I can not differentiate.

1/4"-20x1 3/4" Hex Head Cap Screw in Eccentric Bushing

I don't know why I am trying to get all of this stuff sorted and organized after all these years of general chaos???

The Eccentric Bushing-Belt Tensioning

I did run across this in the Maintenance Manual. I don't recall having read this before. It is interesting though in that it clearing shows the Hex Head Bolt while instructing the use of a slotted screw driver.

I have the contents from two help kits, and obviously the content can change, but the parts kit has the same 515714 number that was referenced in another thread.

Each kit contains:

• (20) 5/16"-18 x 1/4" Socket-Head Setscrews, flat tip
• (5) 5/16"-18 x 3/8" Socket-Head Setscrews, knurled tip with what looks like a patch of thread lock (Are these the Nylon setscrews?)
• (4) 5/16"-18 x 3/8" Socket-Head Setscrews, flat tip
• (5) 1/4"-20 Flat-Head Table Insert Setscrews
• (2) Tapered Setscrews for Miter Bar
• (1) 1/4"-20 x 1/2" Round-Head Setscrew (On the box, this screw is labeled as 1/4 Turn.)

I hope this helps, I think that the 1/4"-20 x 2" Round-Head Setscrew in the ad is a misprint.

Thank you, Mike for the effort and for the response. Yes, this does help. It does contradict some of what I have recently written (posted) regarding the Help Kit. Obviously, things change over time and that is good. I am sure that the contents of this Help Kit is based on real time needs of the users. There would be no other reason for Shopsmith to make the change.

I do wish, however, that when they change a part numbered item that they would change the part number.

I can't remember how old my Help Kits are, and I only have one box, which carries the same 515325 part number. One kit came with a can of Bostik Top-Cote, and the other with an Abrasive Cleaning Stick, both in place of the wax. The Mini Mark V Alignment and Maintenance Manual has a date of 7/87.

I added a couple of comments about the setscrews to the previous post.

Dusty,

Any chance it could be used for attaching the legs to the head rest/base?

Be well,
Ben
