Miter doors give the opportunity to use a molded rail and stile for a more decorative door. Most are still constructed with a floating panel. Stay away from any that are not mortise and tenon joined at the miter though. I order a lot of doors from this company. They have hundreds of styles available. Price is not for the faint of heart especially on doors that are considered non catalog. I have stumped them thought on a couple of request but mostly they can make whatever you desire.

I can assure you that the quality of their mitered doors is equal to their cope and stick doors.

And FWIW, they only come in one size. They can be sliced in half however.

Think 1/8" 'masonite'.

Lee Valley has Panel Barrels ,(they may just be space balls that developed middle age spread ), that come in two sizes, 1/4" and 3/16".

I'd make something instead of using space balls. The first thing to come to mind is cutting a strip of shelf liner.

If a bag of space balls weighs 1 oz and shipping is $6.99 they would cost $225/lb. There has to be something else that works cheap or free.

Left over 1/4" vinyl screen retaining 'tubes'. 1" pieces oughta do.

I use Panel Buddy's and order them by the case. They don't roll around the shop and do not have the oil that stains wood like space balls.

That looks just like the product I get from Sommerfeld. They seem to have a better price than Amazon, and shipping is free for orders over $25.

And, if you don't want to purchase "space balls," you can make your own. Just draw out some beads of silicone caulk onto some waxed paper. When it is fully cured, just strip it off the waxed paper and cut it to the size you want with your utility knife. Make them ahead and store them into a parts jar and you will have what you need when you need it.
