BUT did you wax the slides while the table was apart?

It has been stated here before but is apparently necessary to say it again. With the infeed table set for "0" depth of cut, the infeed and outfeed tables must be coplanar. There is no adjustment to make them coplanar if they are not. If they are not, you might be able to shim them so that they are but that is sorta like spitting into the wind.

The Shopsmith infeed and outfeed tables, I am told, are milled as a matched set and the likelyhood of mixing and matching successfully is very low.

Verify the coplanar relationship between tables --- and then go from there.

If I understand your second pix correctly, the infeed table is not in a plane parallel to the outfeed table. i.e. the cutter end is 'higher' than the opposite end with the 'level' reference being to the outfeed table.

This will cause snipe on the leading end with proper technique(held tight to the OUTfeed table once firmly on it.) The workpiece will 'rock' once that pressure is applied on the OUTfeed table. I see three differing cut depths(which will each vary) as the workpiece travels onto the outfeed table.

I did clean and wax, then buff the mating surfaces on the tables.

It would appear there is a slight hump in each table about 2/3 of the way towards the blades on the infeed table. About 1/4 to 1/3 of the way towards the back on the outfeed table. Somewhere between 3 and 4 thousandths. Not really sure how to fix that without having them milled. Not sure that it's really worth all that. I may have to check out my Great grandpa's old and rusty tables...

Please explain. If GGP's old and rusty are still part of a jointer, that may be the more worthy refurb object.

Yeah, sorry GGp's "tables" are part of an older jointer. His SS is so neglected/abused I don't hold out a lot of hope, but I'll check tonight.

Plus, you know, his jointer is green and the SS I bought is grey so who knows if they're compatible <--- That was sarcasm just in case no one was sure.
