FWIW, my lodge uses real candles. Another local lodge uses the triple stand(neon lights) at the south east corner of the alter.
The hoi poli local lodge (KY #1) uses candles resembling paschal candles(likely last a year or more). Again a triple stand. . . Beautiful lodge!!!
I personally like the candles(no lighting/extinguishing by a switch).
Those stands and alter are outstanding!

My Brethren;
I am grateful for all of the compliments. I draw inspiration from all of you here. Since we were displaced by a storm Last August, we had to take over the restoration from a person who took over 10k from us and did nothing. We are now in the home stretch with the star down and the representation of the mosaic pavement and its border almost complete. I will post progress pics if you all are interested. I am going to ckean and reset the Altar Saturday. As soon as the Master Carpeter(who is a PM) is done i will do all of the edge trim again using my SS system. i will show phots as i go.
Fraternally and Humbly

Not to be demunitive, in High School wood shop one of are class mandated projects was your Majestic star at a lower level/size, as a clock, sure taught me a lot about cutting angles and mitering!!!!
Great design of the use of different woods, wood is what it is all about.

Good Afternoon Brethren;
Now that some things have progressed rather rapidly, i wanted to share some pics of the star after it was set, the Altar back in position, and what the floor looks like as of this afternoon. Please Enjoy

The alter, star and lights are really great and look wonderful with the tile surround.
