That would make sense especially since my model does not have any spring washers. Good call; I'll give it a try tomorrow.

FWIW the 'spring washers' look like split lock washers(very thick).

As I was laying there in bed this morning I was thinking again about where that spring came from. I reached over, grabbed my phone, and started going through my SS pics and lo and behold I found it! :D
