A jackshaft might work, but this is getting more and more complicated.

Just musing here JPG. I'm not at home right now. I'll have a good look at the situation when I get back. Interesting discussion point though.

I think yes, absolutely! I would put bigger on the quill shaft of course you couldn't use the pulley cover ....

I am also assuming no speed controller ...

I did think of bigger on the quill side but didn't think the speed changer would put up with the 2X speed. I'm not prepared to pass on the speed changer. Jack shaft is getting on the silly side really. I'll have to check and see if 1/2 circumference pulleys on the motor would be just too small on the smaller one.
I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up before.
