I'm not trying to provoke a debate. That would be futile and would descend quickly into acrimony. I just want the lurkers to know that we aren't all on the same side of this controversy.
Thanks for posting this. And to ensure that the "we" in "we aren't all on the same side" is clear, count me in. Agree on all your points.
Since this is a privately run website, it won't bother me to have my post deleted, but I won't sit quiet if others are going to weigh in.

That off topic discussion should be moved to "community".

Neither I nor davebodner brought it up in the first place. Take a look back and start with the posts of those who started talking about rebels, revisionist history, and political correctness. Then feel free to tell me what and where I can or cannot post. Until then take a hike.
Moderators, feel free to delete this or any other of my posts. Or move the entire thing to "community" where people can share their beliefs. I don't frequent that forum so I won't post further there.

....Newest variety of the above bench. This one is a bit conservative.
All carved using a non plunge trim router. 3 coats of poly finish.
I noticed the stars were recessed. Did you rout them freehand, as you did lettering, or did you make a template.
You continuously amaze me with the large number of your creations. Wow! wonder what's next.
Yes, they are free handed "trim routed in" I then cleaned up the edges with a chisel. I have found, that I love my el-cheapo router from HF. I truly enjoy using it!
My projects are growing in size. My latest project is a cut and dried, spool bench and since the size is much larger, it takes more than a days labor to produce.
Stay tuned and I will be posting, this 'spool bench' soon. If weather permits!

If it is any consolation, I have decided to not take this "bold and in your face - Rebel Flag bench" with me to the farm show. Yes, while there are numerous 'Red Necks' surrounding farming, and I use that term "PROUDLY" as I consider myself as a lil bit of a Red Neck, I wouldn't want to be charged with any negative press.
What I will do is, I will be taking my Laptop with me, with photos of some of my current builds, that did not make the cut or are allocated at a few consignment shops and some of my future, wanted builds. These wanted builds, won't be built unless, I get a custom order or put on commission to build several! As some of them, can be costly to build and would consume a lot of my wood shop floor space. I wouldn't want them, just sitting around. Build them and then deliver them to the client, asap!
