#10 machine oil / 3 in one oil / turbine oil / electric motor oil / zoom spout oiler.
BTW there are only 2
movable sheaves Control sheave(idler shaft) and the floating sheave(motor shaft).
I suggest removing the motor belt so that you can manually determine the sheaves move freely. The control sheave can be disconnected from the quadrant gear(porkchop) when it is set to FAST. Slip the clip off to allow the control sheave to travel freely. Reinstall the clip when finished. The floating sheave is spring loaded towards closed. Do not let the sheave slam closed when opening it manually.

You can use 3n1, turbine or non-detergent 10W oil.

Hi there BillyO here. I want to thank everyone who helped me to fix the problem with sluggish response to speed up my SS. I oiled my SS as BillMayo and Lyall sent me instructions for. Also thank you JPG for your help. The slow response to speed up or down is fixed. In addition, my control knob works much better (not as I see it in youtube) but is much better
