Storming today with lots of lightning, so can't work on the project so I'll show off progress...
Got the top and bottoms and cut the box apart. Next I am organizing and making tool holders for each tool. It's a bit of a brain teaser as some are smaller than the depth and others just a bit bigger, so I need to organize in 3 dimensions so that it closes still. Not to mention each tool holder needs to hold it in place during transport and can still take it out fairly easy.
Oh ya, no metal either. At least I'll be able to turn a nice handle. Probably need to turn a pin for the big out of hard maple as well. That should be fun, lol.

The only essential I think I should add to the above set would be a drill, but I honestly have no desire to hand drill any projects. I'll bring my cordless drill on the side. Lol.
Of you ever I'm missing something you believe is an essential, let me know. I'm already adding a pencil because the knife isn't always the best option.
A combo square is probably the single most-used tool in my shop. But then, I don't recall seeing one in the H.O. Studley tool chest. (Am pretty sure he didn't have digital calipers either! )

Just a small machinists square is all I could fit.

Lol, the caliper is my marking gage. Sharp edges of the tip get me perfect scoring lines for thickness.
It must work or you wouldn't use it that way. I use an exacto knife for marking whenever I need accuracy. Otherwise, I use a mechanical pencil with hard lead. Similar to this. http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/offic ... oCsqTw_wcB
