Thanks for the comment. When I did the mod., I had 1/4" aluminum plate and thought about using it but at the time was having difficulty changing bits with two wrenches and looking under the table to see where the depth of cut on the router was. So why not make the plate transparent. Selected 1/2" Lexan because it's almost impossible to harm it. After using it for a while, it suddenly dawned on me, why in the world am I doing this when all I had to do was simply push the plate and router up and sit it on the table for easy access. It's amazing how we can be such dumb asses on occasion. This is a case of letting your brain get so wrapped up in trying to do something, you look over the simple approach.

In any case I have been super happy with the setup since it's birth.
