I misunderstood. I thought you were making reference to a twisted table.
Yes, twisted way tubes (not parallel in the horizontal plane) would cause the problem of non interchangeability of the extension tables. That is part of the reason I invested in the double tilt castings. They are identical and they make it much easier to assemble while ascertaining that needed parallelism.
The jury is still out but I believe the double tilt makes interchangeable extension tables possible.
