I use it for all Shopsmith operations. I think it works every bit as well as the Shopsmith dust collector that I replaced with it. I like the convenience of the disposable bag and it comes on automatically when I turn the machine on. You do need a dedicated 20 amp circuit to run both and that probably wouldn't work with the power pro model.

Might work better with the PowerPro - it draws less current than the standard motor.

I don't believe you will have a problem operating both the Festool and a PowerPro on the same 20amp dedicated circuit. The two combined draw far less than 20amp when at full speed. During start up, which is a very short period of time, there will be a momentary reduction of input voltage while the two come up to operating speed but the PowerPro should be able to deal with that. Line fluctuations occur all the time as great as those that occur during PowerPro startup occur all the time.

I don't know but I would bet that the startup duration for the Festool will be much shorter.

Can you bring both the Mark V and the Festool up simultaneously? I think you already answered that. Thus the PowerPro would be no issue.

Thanks Mark. A little off topic, but I've been playing with ideas for dust collection for a small shop. Maybe I'll start a new (old) topic on this
