With the hole in my wallet I went ahead and got the Dust Deputy for my Festool vac. It is here and mounted except for the hose to allow the use of a bag in the box. Minor but I wanted to wait until I'm ready to use it before attaching it.

The CT26 will still need a bag change once a year or two and the dust deputy will get emptied many many more times. I like the idea of having a plastic bag in the box and then just pulling the bag when it is full and not having to dump it like I have to on the other two. What they do is add a tube between the inlet to the vacuum and the inside of the box, that holds the bag in place. I might look into adding that idea to one of my other systems to see if I can get it to work.

It is made out of anti-static material so I will miss watching the vortex. But it is safer this way. I don't feel the need to do my other systems up this way, I've been using them for a couple of years with no issues so I feel safe. The Festool tools are so expensive I figured the anti-static is a small price for the piece of mind.

Not sure when I'll do my first project. I'm only doing limit things for the time being, back is still not back to normal and I have already lost a month, don't need any set backs.

I'm working on a place for it in the garage that will allow easy access and still be somewhat out of the way.

I still have the hose cover to do also, but now I have the hardware to work with determining where the power cord and the hose should exit the wrap. I think I'll get a second cord to tie up with this. That way I can keep a cord with every tool and then the extra with the hose.

I found they have two cords, an 18Ga and a 16Ga. Minimum cost difference so I have ordered the 16Ga(just $2). Part number is 490656. Might get it already tomorrow!

So Ed how do you like this system? I'll need to add another vac to my Mark 7 when I get the Shark guard that I ordered so I'm thinking this might be them way to go.

I have not gotten to use it yet and I'm sad to say that. I have a pile of projects but I'm at least 6 or 7 weeks behind on everything. Right now I have some yard work in progress and then I have to decide if I want to even have a garden this year....

Anyway it is just sitting waiting for me to get on a woodworking project.

The dust deputy has the option of using a plastic bag to make life simpler. It fills up you take out the bag and put a new one in. It comes with 3 bags so it is not a rush but I have started to look at where to get replacements.

If you order from the dust deputy people they are $.89 plus postage. So if you were to order 100 of them that is $89 + 13.75 shipping or about $1.02 per bag. Not too bad.

Online I found another source but you have to buy a case of them. I really don't see me using up 250 bags anytime soon........ The cost is then $52.20 plus 18.50 shipping or just $.28 each. How ever I would then have to store the 24 pounds of bags and I don't see that as a good thing.

To bad I don't know a couple of people close by who have this system so we could share the bags.........

I wonder how the wife would like to use this system to vacuum in the house.... never mind that would never happen. I guess I just need to do more woodworking.

You could order the 250 and then throw 150 of them away rather than store them and still be better off money wise.

I guess I could become an ebay reseller.........
